Laura Mock, CTRS CDP

Keeping our minds active and occupied is critical to our health as we age. That’s exactly why we brought Laura Mock onto WayWiser’s team of Trusted Advisors. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who has been working in the field for over 25 years, she is uniquely qualified to guide our community of caregivers in regards to recreational therapy.

Laura has a bachelor’s in science in Therapeutic Recreation from VCU and will use her years of experience to educate our users on ways to improve quality of life for those under their care while simultaneously providing respite and moments for their own self-care.

Teepa Snow

Nearly half of caregivers are caring for older adults with a dementia diagnosis1. That is a sobering statistic and the very reason we’re so thrilled to have Teepa Snow as a Trusted Advisor. A Registered Occupational Therapist with over forty years of rich and varied clinical and academic experience, with degrees from Duke and UNC- Chapel Hill, Teepa is one of the world’s leading advocates and educators for anyone living with dementia and other forms of brain change.

Teepa’s philosophy is reflective of her education, work experience, medical research, and first hand caregiving experience. Her advocacy efforts led her to the development of the GEMS® State Model for understanding the progression of dementia and changes in abilities as well as her creation of the Positive Approach to Care® training strategies. Her user-friendly approaches will provide guidance for WayWiser users and their loved ones who are battling dementia.

Amy is a true Swiss Army knife when it comes to providing the best lives for older adults and helping caregivers cope with the complexities and surprises that come with the role.

Melissa Posey Loose, MA, LFD

Everyone will face a death in their family or friend groups at some point. Caregivers are often tasked with helping their loved ones die with dignity and celebrating their life properly after they are gone. This is why we’ve brought Melissa Posey, the Training and Development Manager for the National Funeral Directors Association, on as a Trusted Advisor at WayWiser.

As a funeral director, Melissa finds purpose in meeting with families to develop, coordinate, and direct meaningful plans and ceremonies honoring the deceased. In addition, she incorporates tools and educational material for caregivers to help make conversations about death and dying more accessible with loved ones of all ages, cultures, and relationships.

Evan Kharrazi

One in ten people have diabetes and one in five is undiagnosed. Caring for an older adult with diabetes can add an array of complexities to an already difficult situation and preventative care for ourselves can make things even trickier. This is why we’ve asked Evan Kharrazi, certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, to join our team of Trusted Advisors.

Evan is the founder of the Caregiver Health Club – on a mission to help 10,000 caregivers lose weight and prevent type-2 diabetes, inspired by the National Diabetes Prevention Program,  Evan blends his unique background as a lifelong caregiver and health coach Evan to help caregivers reverse their likelihood of type-2 diabetes and kidney disease through a comprehensive lifestyle balance program.
